We have two 7-colour 3-laser (Blue488, Yellow561 and Violet405) BD Bioscience Melody Cell Sorters. Our aim is to train users to operate them. These machines are super stripped down versions of the AriaIII / AriaFusion machines we normally run. The FACSChorus™ Software is extremely simple (though inflexible)

The Melody can analyse at 40 000 per second, and sort at ~10 000 per second. Both the sample station and sort receptacles can be cooled. The Melody can be ready to sort in 30m from turning the machine on. It will sort into tubes of various sizes plus 96/384 well plates.

The software allows live compensation correction and generates simplified sort reports and standard FCS3.1 files
