Professor Sarah Teichmann, Chair in stem cell medicine at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute and the Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge, is featured in UNESCO’s Virtual Science Museum as part of their 'Women in Science' exhibition.
Sarah co-leads the Human Cell Atlas, an international consortium to map every cell in the human body. Together with Aviv Regev, they united researchers around the world to form the community, a collective built on openness, inclusion and curiosity.
By charting the diversity and function of cells across tissues, this ambitious project is transforming our understanding of human health, disease, and the development of new therapies.
The UNESCO Virtual Science Museum explores science through engaging exhibitions, inspiring stories, and educational resources from museums around the world. Among their virtual exhibition rooms, the 'Women in Science' exhibition celebrates women who are shaping the future of science throughout history and across continents, highlighting how curiosity, dedication, and collaboration are pushing the boundaries of what we know about life itself.
