The four year studentships will be fully research based, with students spending the first 6 months doing short rotations (2 months duration each) in 3 different laboratories, before deciding on their PhD project (which they will then have 3.5 years to undertake). The two students based at Cambridge will rotate exclusively within Cambridge laboratories and the two students based at Oxford will rotate exclusively within Oxford laboratories. This system of rotations will provide the students with excellent exposure to the range of research undertaken within the CRM and will enable them to make an informed decision about their PhD project.
A full list of potential projects is available.
During their main PhD project, Cambridge students will get to spend time in the laboratory of their co-supervisor in Oxford (and vice versa for Oxford students). This will provide them with a unique insight into research at different Universities.
