Bios
I obtained a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology from the Università Roma Tre (Italy) with a project focused on the characterization of the nucleic variation of the of Toscana virus (Bunyaviridae) genome. I then increased my expertise in Virology working as volunteer in the Laboratory of Virology of the National Institute for Infectious Diseases "Lazzaro Spallanzani" (Rome) under the supervision of Dr Antonino Di Caro; I had the opportunity to work in Biosafety Level 3.
I obtained a PhD program held by the University College London (UCL) under the supervision of Prof. Vincent Emery. The project was aimed at the evaluation of candidate biomarkers based on the Human Papillomavirus genome for the identification of cervical cancer precursors. I then worked as Research Assistant in the Tuberculosis Research Centre of the Imperial College London at the St Mary's Campus.
I am currently working as Research Associate in the Lydia Drumright's Laboratory at the University of Cambridge to study the phylodynamics of Noroviruses.
My strengths include qPCR, sequencing, database implements and statistical analysis.
