2017 Julia Bodmer Award winner
Congratulations to Dr James Lee (Department of Medicine), who has been named as the 2017 Julia Bodmer Award winner by the European Federation of Immunogenetics (EFI).
The Julia Bodmer Award was established in 2002 as a tribute to the late EFI president Julia Bodmer, who encouraged many young researchers in the field of Immunogenetics. It is awarded annually to a young scientist in recognition of their outstanding work within the field of Immunogenetics, and in acknowledgement of the laboratory in which the scientist has performed their research. As the Julia Bodmer Award winner, Dr Lee will deliver the opening lecture at the annual EFI conference and has been invited to contribute a dedicated ‘Julia Bodmer Review’ to HLA, the official journal of the Society. Dr Lee performed the research for which he was awarded this prize in Professor Ken Smith’s laboratory in the Department of Medicine.
